The Kingfisher Project is planned to develop the Kingfisher, Mputa, Nzizi and Waraga fields. The Project will produce 40,000 Barrels of Oil per day during peak production. The crude will be treated at a Central Processing Facility (CPF) located in the south-eastern shores of Lake Albert. The Kingfisher development wells will be highly deviated wells from onshore surface locations targeting the offshore reservoir.

Eco & Partner has provided Environmental and Social Consultancy services to the developer encompassing the following:

  • Services for Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)and Public Hearing for the Kingfisher ESIA Report. ESIA for development of the Kingfisher field in EA-3. Subsurface construction includes a total of 40 wells (27production wells and 13 injection wells); the surface construction will include well-pads, production flow lines and water injection flow lines, an oil export pipeline, a central processing facility, a lake water extraction station, camps, a jetty, an airstrip and roads
  • Invertebrates (Mud Snail) Baseline Investigation Study. The study was undertake based on IFC performance standard 6 requirements. This thought to verify presence of mud snails (an endangered species) in the near-shore habitats off the Buhuka Flats. The study area covered; the Bugoma Lagoon (33.2 ha), large bays (73.7 ha), open sandy shores (554.8 ha) and shallow river associated water (37.2 ha), totaling approximately 699 ha.
  • Critical species study at Kingfisher oilfield (Nahan Francolin, Grey Crown Crane, Eastern Chimpanzee)
  • Environmental Compliance Audit for CNOOC Uganda Facilities in Kingfisher Development Area, Transportation, Treatment and Disposal of Kingfisher drilling waste, Access Roads etc.

        Cement is an essential building material which is used in almost every construction project worldwide. Hima Cement (U) Ltd provides cement to several large scale and smaller scale consumers throughout East Africa. Key raw materials used to produce cement include calcium carbonate, silica, alumina and iron ore. These are extracted from limestone rock.

        Hima Cement (U) Ltd currently produces approximately 1480 tons of clinker per day and operates 2 major quarries, the Hima Quarry and the Dura Quarry.

        Eco & Partner has provided Environmental and Social Consultancy Services including:  an Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the limestone Quarry and the Environmental Social Impact Assessment for a Clinker Grinding Plant.

        Hariss International Limited is one of Uganda’s leading manufacturers of food and beverages. Since its inception in 2005 the production of both food and beverages have been operating under the brand name RIHAM.

        Hariss International proposed to setup a new food and beverage processing plant in Kireku Zone, Mukono District in 2011.
        Eco & Partner provided Environmental and Social consultancy services to the developer, these included; Environmental Social Impact Assessment for the then proposed food and beverage Processing plant.

            Nyamasoga Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility

            They deal in cost-effective solutions to complex hazardous and non-hazardous waste and chemical pollution problems, providing peace of mind around legal compliance, safe handling, transportation and treatment.
            Currently in Uganda Enviro Serv handles oil and gas related wastes from the kingfisher development area in Kabaale, Hoima District
            Eco & Partner has provided Environmental and Social Consultancy Services to Enviro Serv (U) Ltd. These services included:
            Development of the Environmental Social Impact Assessment for the Nyamasoga Waste Management Facility. The Environmental and Social Impact Statement was prepared in accordance with the EIA Regulations and the NEMA Guidelines for Environmental Impact Assessment.
            The ESIA focused on the initial phase of construction of the drilling waste management facility with the understanding that any future expansion would be subject to further Environment and Social Impact Assessment.
            Eco & Partner has also carried out mandatory annual Environmental Compliance Auditing and Monitoring for Nyamasoga Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility.
